S1 Episode 4 - Alexandra (Alex) Jackson | Graphic Designer & Author

Alexandra (Alex) Jackson is a graphic designer and an author from Maryland, with a knack for machine learning languages such as HTML, CSS, Pseudocode, and UML. In May 2020, she graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County with a degree in Visual Arts (Graphic Design Concentration).

She has several self-published books both physical and audio such as: Somewhere In Southern Italy, Out of Time, Stories with Alex, Her Name Was Lucy and Bucket Hat & Beanie. (All available on Barnes & Noble, Amazon Worldwide, Soundcloud and her website). Visuals with Alex is a weekly project that focuses on various individuals sharing their stories with the world. Each story is told visually throughout a video accompanied by text and all participants are assigned a film where they are able to share something unique about themselves.

Fortunately, Alex and Kristie had the opportunity to get together and chat about how she balances her work as a graphic designer and as an author. In this episode, Alex shares her process for writing and creating characters, and sheds some light on COVID-19 and how the pandemic has impacted her as an artist.
